The 2012 Founders Day spectacular fireworks display will begin around 10:00 p.m. Saturday, June 23th. Fireworks conclude Charlestown’s two day Founders Day celebration. One of the best places to view them is Greenway Park. Bring your blanket, sleeping bag, or folding chair to assure a comfortable spot for watching the sky as it fills with light.

Gospel Night/Ice Cream Social

The 2012 Founders Day Ice Cream Social & Gospel Night will be Thursday, June 14th at 6 p.m. on the Charlestown Square. Come participate and be entertained by local and regional groups. Bring your family, lawn chairs and something to drink. Be prepared to partake of some sweet, rich ice cream.

Come watch the tent rise on May 11th! Then on May 12th, the real fun begins. There will be two shows, one at 2 p.m. and the other beginning at 5:30 p.m. Bring the kids and the rest of the family for some great entertainment. It will be held at Jonathan Jennings.

Charlestown Parks & Recreation and Charlestown Beautification Committee to Host “Fall Family Picnic in Greenway Park”. Bring the Family, Saturday September 24th in Greenway Park, 4:00p.m.-8:00p.m. for music, food and fun. Kids Tractor Pull, Hayrides, Inflatables, Hula Hoop Contest and more. Admission Free!! “Picnic Special”, Grilled Ribeye Steak Sandwiches, Pork Chop Sandwiches, Dressed Cheeseburgers and Hot Dogs. Choice of Sandwich, Baked Beans, Coleslaw or Potato Salad and Drink $3.00. Stop by the Charlestown Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary Bake Sale for homemade desserts. Dance to tunes from the “Blaise Streets Band” and “Q it Up” DJ Alex Streets” 5:30-8:00. The Charlestown Police Dept. will be on hand to “show off the dogs” K-9 demonstration at 7:00. The 2011 Founders Day 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament will be held Saturday, June 25th. This is a staple of the Founders Day celebration and always provides for a great time, whether you are participating or viewing from the sidelines. Detailed information for those wanting to compete in the tournament may be obtained by clicking on the link below. Games begin at 9:00 a.m. in Greenway Park on Saturday, June 25th.

Charlestown on the Square Arts and Crafts Marketplace

During the 2011 Founders Day celebration the Square will be transformed into an Arts & Crafts Marketplace!

It will open on Saturday June 25th 10:00 am – 6:00 pm and Sunday June 26th 11:00 am – 4:00 pm.

**All products must be original and handcrafted creations**

Booth spaces are $40.00 for a 10X10 and $75.00 for a 10X20 area. There will be electric available. The Arts and Crafts Marketplace will be located on the square at the corner of Highway 3 and Main Street in Charlestown.
