Charlestown Beautification Committee Announces
Adopt a Light Pole Project
The
Charlestown Beautification Committee would like to announce their fall fund
raising project entitled "Adopt a Light Pole". The committee is
offering personalized commemorative plaques in memory or in honor of loved ones,
organizations or businesses that will grace the decorative light poles that
surround the City of Charlestown square and those in Greenway Park. The
Beautification Committee plans to decorate each light pole in honor of the
changing seasons. Each plaque, made of cast bronze with raised lettering,
measuring 8" x 6", will be available to businesses, organizations or
families for only $300.00. The bronze plaques will adorn the decorative
light poles for one year starting in the month of December. At the end of
the year, the plaque will be removed from the pole and mounted to a wooden
holder, appropriate for hanging or displaying and returned to the owner.
The Beautification Committee suggests that families "Adopt a Light Pole" in memory of in honor of a loved one. Organizations may "Adopt a Light Pole" in honor of it's members, or a light pole can be adopted and dedicated to a certain business. The Committee urges interested families, organizations and businesses to "Adopt a Light Pole" early because of a limited amount of decorative light poles and an eight-week engraving period. The committee's goal is to have each of the 29 decorative light poles in the City "adopted", decorated and adorned with a commemorative plaque by December.
The Charlestown Beautification Committee is excited about their Fall 2001 "Adopt a Light Pole" project and feels it is a great way for any family, organization or business to show their support and involvement in the important work being done to improve the City's appearance and overall image.
